BEND BEER PICK OF THE MONTH
Bridge 99 and Monkless Belgian Ales Beer Dinner at Pronghorn Resort
October 14, 6:30pm
Join us for this special beer dinner, served family style and in celebration of fall flavors! Appetizers and three courses, plus beer pairings from two of Bend’s most exciting breweries: $69 per person + Gratuity. Plates we can’t wait to try: Chef Linde’s Housemade Chorizo Empanadas (1 of 3 appetizers), Duck Confit and Butternut Squash Ravioli with “hop pickled chanterelle mushrooms,” Corned Beef and Beer Braised Short Ribs. Beers we can’t wait to try: Monkless Belgian Dark Strong Ale, “Meet Your Maker” 9% ABV and Bridge 99 Rock Crawler Red 7.2% ABV. Bend Fall Festival
September 30 – October 2
Celebrate all things fall in downtown Bend, with fall-themed activities including pumpkin pie baking and pumpkin carving contests, live music, a harvest market, art, food, beer and wine. The Bend Fall Festival has been a Bend tradition for more than 20 years!
Pumpkin Patches Open
October 1 – October 31
Local pumpkin patches open for the season on October 1. Check out Smith Rock Ranch and DD Ranch for old-fashioned fall fun, plus great big pumpkins to haul home.
Sisters Fresh Hop Festival
October 1
Celebrate the hop harvest in beautiful Sisters during the annual Sisters Fresh Hop Festival! Taste a variety of beers from the Northwest – 24 breweries will be on hand showcasing their finest fresh hop beers.
BendFilm Festival
October 6-9
Celebrating the brave voice of independent cinema through films, lectures and education, BendFilm is an incredibly entertaining weekend full of film and conversation with independent filmmakers from all over the country. There are four levels of tickets to enjoy the festival, be sure to make your dinner and cocktail plans early as downtown fills with film lovers all weekend long.
Bend Venture Conference
October 13-14
The largest Angel Conference in the Pacific Northwest, the Bend Venture Conference is a private investment vehicle established annually to help finance the most promising business startups emerging from the event each year. In 2015, Over 465 attendees, 50 prominent investors, and 65 companies joined at the Tower Theatre for a celebration of entrepreneurship and innovation with investment, awards, and prizes of close to $1 million.
Ignite Bend
October 27
If you had just five minutes on stage, what would you say? What if you only got 20 PowerPoint slides and they rotated automatically every 15 seconds? Around the world people have been putting together “Ignite” nights to share their answers. Back for its 14th Ignite Bend, this free community event seeks to inspire and teach during the fast and fun presentations.
Bend Zombie Run
October 29
The Bend Zombie Run pits survivors against zombies during an apocalyptic 5K race through downtown Bend. Participants pick their poison – Zombie or Survivor – and then race to the finish to see who makes it out alive (or undead). It is Halloween weekend, after all!
