There are so many fun things to do in Bend in the fall. It’s the best time to be here!
1.hit the trails
Whether you are an avid mountain biker or trail runner or just getting into a trail sport, Bend has options for every level of rider or runner to enjoy awesome conditions and beautiful fall foliage.
Fall is a great time of year to hike up Tumalo Mountain, ride Phil’s Trail, or take a refreshing trail run in the high desert. You’ll enjoy the beautiful fall colors as you rip around on some of the best trails in the northwest.
2.catch a sunset
Sunsets are always in season in Central Oregon. Before you tuck in for the night, head to our heated pools or hot tub for a front-row seat to an amazing mountain sunset. The sky will seem to burst with color as you wait for the sun to drop. When the skies darken, head to our fireside outdoor seating area for more warmth and conversation.

Downtown Bend is quaint and full of boutiques and incredible restaurants. Explore the downtown area in the fall for a more authentic look at life in Bend. The walkable downtown area is perfect for a day of shopping, eating and enjoying the incredible happy hours. You can even take in a show at the iconic Tower Theater.
And don’t forget the fall beers available on the Bend Ale Trail. You’ll find seasonal, fresh-hop beers in September, pumpkin beers in October, and perhaps the most anticipated local release—Deschutes Brewery’s Jubeale, available October through December.
While the summer months draw the biggest crowds of golfers to Central Oregon, our favorite time to play is in the fall. We maintain excellent course conditions throughout the months of September and October, and often we are playing through Thanksgiving and later. There’s so much great golf to play in the fall—you’ll want to be out there every day. Plus, the Pronghorn Academy remains open and available to help you upgrade your game and your equipment.
5.go for a cruise
A relaxing fall day includes a cruise around the resort. Grab a cruiser bike, fat bike or mountain bike and explore our bike trails. Take in the fall foliage and golf course views as you meander. If you’re up for adventure, kick up some dirt on the BLM land right here at Pronghorn.
